Sisters!

I started my week in a great way - with a visit with my sister! I live in MN, my sister and family live out East in MA. April had to travel for work to the West coast and had a layover in MN so I met her at the airport for a chat and we had a lovely few hours. All the more precious because we only see each other once a year but this was a bonus because we know we will see each other in June for my daughter's HS graduation! Now I am hoping for more travel for my sister and I am sure her family is thinking the opposite because they miss her. I guess I can't be selfish and I do try to think what is best for them but What A Treat! Cheers to family.

Fiskateers

I have been having a blast as a Fiskateer (and plan to continue enjoying the fun!). Recently I participated in an online challenge not realizing that there was a chance to win a prize. It was fun to stretch my creativity and try new things and then a couple weeks later I find out that some random participants won prizes! Here is a picture of the Fiskars goodness I received yesterday and of course I started in right away using the goodies and finished a small book about a day in my life. That was another challenge I discovered on this blog (through Fiskateers!)

Library writings

Here is an article I found interesting about school libraries and some statistics about MN funding schools.

contests!

I have been surfing the web today (after the mushy skiing) and checking some favorite blogs of mine. Of course Christmas with the Cricut, now renamed as Everyday Cricut (after all, Christmas was three months ago) and discovered (yes, I knew about it a while ago, just didn't act when I was sick) that there is a give away involving some awesome crafting organizational furniture - I really like the craftbox. My birthday is just weeks away and I told DH about the awesome Crafting stuff like the Craft Box but his eyes bugged out when he saw the price...we don't spend more than a few dollars on birthday gifts so anything over $100 much less a $1,000 doesn't go over well for birthday presents! Maybe I'll get the scrapmabob instead! BUT!!! the real reason I am showing this info to my friends (I do have one!) is because a book is involved. Be still my librarian heart!!! Part of the give a-way is a novel!! WooohhoooooHoooo for the readers out there! The novel is The Wrong Number by Rachelle Christensen. Have I read it? Well, not yet but it is on my list and I plan to order some books this week to enjoy during spring break! So check it out!

Wrong Number (Paperback)

~ Rachelle J. Christensen

Is it spring?

Today was a beautiful day in Minnesota (some say Minni"snow"ta) with the temps nearly hitting 70 degrees! So how did my family spend it?...not riding bike (saw lots of kids out!) not going for a fun walk in our teeshirts (saw that too) but we went downhill skiing! It was fun but tricky when we had to avoid the water spots. DH said it was like mashed potatoes, and DS tried snowboarding for the first time and exclaimed the snow felt like sand paper - maybe because the snow was more like ice-crystals than soft fluffy flakes! In all it was a fantastic day and I even removed my ski goggles so I wouldn't have a raccoon type of tan on my face!
